Faith and Love

I injured my knee last year and I am supposed to be doing physical therapy to make it stronger.  I haven't been very consistent because, lets face it, it hurts!

Well, my knee has been getting worse, so I'm trying to re-commit to PT.  I guess if my knee hurts anyway, I might as well do the therapy!  I have to do stuff that strengthens my knee and my hips, so I don't walk very fast when I'm finished.

Last night I did my exercises while Conni and Dave played a game downstairs.  I hurt so bad I could hardly move and I was sitting on the couch fighting tears when they came upstairs.  Dave immediately got me an ice pack and some ibuprofen. And of course, when he sat down next to me to comfort me the tears started and just wouldn't stop.  Conni came and snuggled me.  Then it was time for her to get ready for bed.  So she ran in and changed into her jammies. She ran out and showed me that she put her jammies on backwards to be silly and make me laugh!  I giggled through some tears and hugged and thanked her.  Then she went and brushed her teeth.

It was time to read stories and we couldn't find her.  Dave walked into her room to find my sweet little girl, in the dark, on her knees.  "Dad, I needed a minute to myself.  I had to pray that Heavenly Father would make Mommy stop hurting!"  And then I felt the ibuprofen kick in.

I have the sweetest little girl.  You might think your daughter is, but nope! Mine is the best!  She snuggled into my lap, so careful to not jar anything that hurt.  Then we went in to her room to tuck her in.  I normally lay in bed with her for a few minutes.  "Mom, do you think you can snuggle me or should Dad do it?" I lay down and just held that sweet thing.

I am so blessed to have such a caring little girl.  I love that she is one of my friends and she has the most tender heart and wants to make everyone feel better. I know that therapy will hurt, but I know we will get through it, and I will be stronger when its finally done.  Knowing I have my family behind me makes all the difference!

Valentine's Day

I was able to go to Conni's Valentine's party at school
Conni loved all the Valentine's she got from her classmates

My beautiful bouquet and adorable panda bear from my sweetheart
He also got me some of my favorite candy!

Conni got this fur-real-friends cat named Daisy from Mom and Dad for Valentines
Since I'm allergic, this is as close as she will get.
It plays and sings and purrs.  She carries it everywhere and it sleeps next to her head.

Flowers from Dave.  Conni's are on the left, mine are on the right
I love that Dave gets Conni a little something!

Man, she's cute!

Goings On

Here's some randomness from the last few weeks too.

Look how long Conni's hair is!  Below her waist!
Granted, once it dries, it shortens up with all her beautiful curls!

Cousin Brons started teaching Conni how to play chess

Conni's tooth fell out at school!  She was so excited to get this tooth box at the office to bring it home in.  This is tooth #3.

Discovery Gateway

We had the chance last week to go play at the Discovery Gateway with some cousins and friends from school.  My sister managed to get a great deal for us for having such a large group.  Conni hasn't been in probably two years, so it was fun to get back there.  And I was excited that this was my least anxious trip there ever!  I always worry about losing her in all the kids, and this time it wasn't too busy.  I knew most of the moms there, and I had multiple sets of eyes watching out for her.  I'm such a helicopter!

But, the point is, Conni had fun!  And I took pics to share!!!

This is Conni's friend John from school.  They had a ton of fun playing!

Last time we put Conni on this horse she freaked out and started crying!
It may help that her feet reach the stirrups this time too

Cousin Bridger helping her buy groceries

If you haven't taken your kids to Discovery Gateway, I highly recommend adding it to your schedule.  It can be pricey to get in, but watch for coupons.  We were there for about two hours and barely got through about half of it.

Valentines Crafting

Conni and I had a date night while Dad was at the Blue and Gold Banquet.  We picked up this cute ladybug for my bug to paint.  I love watching her concentrate!  It turned out super cute :)

The Princess and the King Dance

Friday night, Conni's school had their first annual Princess and the King Dance.  Conni was super excited to go!  Dave wasn't feeling well Friday and stayed home from work.  Every time we prayed Conni asked that Daddy could feel well enough to go.  And he did!  (Great opportunity for lesson on prayers and faith!)

The dress code was "whatever makes you feel like the princess you are". Conni wanted a princess crown that matched her dress, so for last week's date night Dave took her shopping at Zurchers to get exactly what she wanted.  Then she asked Dad to wear a tie that matched her dress.

I don't think this grin could get any bigger

These two had so much fun!  They chose to stay for the entire 90 minutes of it.  Dave had fun watching Conni and dancing with her too.  Conni loved dancing and jumping around and being silly with her friends and dancing with her dad.  They had cookies and drinks.  They also had a photographer there taking "formal" dance pictures. At some point these are supposed to be emailed to us so I will post that here too.

I know I post a lot about these two spending time together, but it is such a blessing in my life.  I am so grateful that Dave invests so much in this relationship and he loves her so much.  They are making some awesome memories together!

While they were gone - I was busy making baby slippers for my etsy site.  I was very productive over the weekend!
