My Aunt Judy is a member of the Murray Symphony. They had a concert last Saturday that was geared for children. Before it started, they had an "Instrument Petting Zoo" where the kids were able to try out lots of different instruments. Then the concert featured music from Looney Tunes, a video game music medley, songs from Frozen, and an animal song with live comedians reading about their personalities. The kids didn't have to worry about sitting quietly through the entire thing. During the animal portion, the comedians would invite the kids out of the audience to walk around like different animals.
Conni LOVES music! She had a blast checking out all the instruments and truly loved the concert.
Conni with my Aunt Judy, who plays the cello
Conni's favorite instrument? The flute. I was surprised, because she always talked about playing the violin, like I used to. But, this was a fun way for her to try them all out. She managed to make a sound come out of all the instruments eventually. We are looking forward to when she can start playing something with the school orchestra in a few years - for now we are going to focus on the piano. And who knows, maybe by then she will change her mind. But if not, I'm ok with that too!
We took a minute with cousin Jennifer to wander around after they had tried out the instruments. We hoped to get some of the wiggles out before the concert started. These two love to play together and they are so cute!
